The “regiomontanos” have a doubtful miser’s prestige created by the “chilangos”( habitants of the capital). Monterrey (The news of the Monterrey City). - I Have in my hands a note (Millenio- Público, April 30, 07 p.p. 28) where is intended to commit in that valley of St. Lucia, nostalgic land that brings us many recollections; land that just as inhospitable it is generous with their inhabitants.
The topic that brings us to polemical the day of today is called, TUNNEL; this tunnel will cross the “Cerro de la Silla”, in Guadalupe city lands, Mexico. Zone conurbation of Monterrey, Mexico
That urban legend, where to the habitants of Monterrey are them known as avaricious. Call them to those inhabitants "regiomontanos", they are known in all Mexico with a title unmerited; Avaricious. It will be certain. (??)
In the previous attempts of shattering our habitat that I recall is found that of the Long Knoll, that gradually it was depredated by several administrations and that to our ears arrived that were gone to buy (or to expropriate) the Independence colony - before known as the neighborhood of San Luisito - to build a great corridor. This corridor was made but forward in the pope Leon XIII colony.
That it would communicate Monterrey city with San Pedro municipality through the avenue “Las Torres”. Having not alone communication Monterrey city; through the avenue “Dr. Gonzalitos”; avenue “Eugenio Garza Sada” but also by this corridor that joins to the Monterrey populous with the commercial San Pedro.
In Monterrey have a pollution problem not very known but because of this not less dangerous. Due to the quarries that were located in the border of the Valley of St. Lucia by the course of Santa Catarina municipality, zone conurbation of Monterrey, - in the skirts of the “Cerro de las Mitras” -. This has as panorama a valley with its very hurt vital space and it refer me to a real -estate luxury project_, the Valley of “Los Reyes”, locate in "La Huasteca" zone by the course of Santa Catarina municipality that intends to finish with it little that remains us of the ecosystem.
This project denounced by Raymundo Hernández C. - and not alone by him - due to the capricious procedures that are continued for the project. Though fits to indicate that it would bring benefits to the already of by if chaotic metropolitan traffic. Since do not believe that they make it alone by annoying to the ecologist; this due to the situation in which is found the project, that fired the prices of the real estate in possession of the privileged men that had the information of their construction and bought increasing fancifully the lands where purportedly will happen.
The vehicular tunnel would be made under the saw of the "Cerro de La Silla" Hill, having an extension of 60 kilometers until Allende municipality, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. According to the Government of the State are three or four kilometers that dug and stopped the projects due to the scandals that were raised.
Now we will have depredated the west of the metropolitan zone of Monterrey city, with this project of many million of weights. To the fact that cost we will have in the century XXI a modern Monterrey city, depredated in their ecosystem natural, in piteous state the habitat and our vital space that gives disgust.
When the people that has the economic power will create but parks "Fundidora”; “Niños Heroes” and“Meseta de Chipinque” plateau with trees and space for our children, adult and old. (??) We need but urban spaces that make us to feel pride and dignity in front of the world.
