Eichmann ... Ten Years, Hidden in Argentina
Nothing in the world, the prestigious academic Hannah Arendt want to miss
the trial of Adolf Eichmann, who was sentenced to death and hanged in 1962 by the Israeli authorities for their war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Nazi regime. Sent by the New Yorker magazine and the editor William Shawn, the same as Truman Capote tasked to cover a criminal trial that resulted in Cold Blood - the German Jewish intellectual followed with interest the news of the kidnapping of Nazi war criminal Buenos Aires, where he had fled with forged identity of Ricardo Klement, and portrayed the "profound contradiction between the banality of Eichmann as a man and officer, and the magnitude of destruction caused by the same man." The result of this patient's task is the book Eichmann in Argentina, outlining the history of the architect and organizer of the Jewish extermination during the Nazi regime, who wanted to end his life undercover in Greater Buenos Aires, as an electrician, a seller of liquefied and breeder of rabbits. The Eichmann case pays the theory that the cruelty of Nazism was not the work of a madman or delirious. Next to Hitler acted ordinary people, poor, they seemed to have no pathological features, however, launched a machinery atrocious in the Holocaust Museum in Buenos Aires was exhibited to the public the false passport with which Eichmann joined the Argentina, with the covert identity of Ricardo Klement. The other engine of the investigation was the final sentence that Eichmann made against his tormentors, in Ramla prison, at midnight on 31 May 1962, when he said loudly: "Long live Germany! Long life to Austria! Long live Argentina! Never forget you ". Along with the false identity of Klement, Eichmann adopted a strategy that does not leave until the end, poverty. He worked in a garage in Palermo (Serrano 1800), lived in the Tiger and moved to San Miguel de Tucuman, where the company Capri, which employed several German scientists and was sponsored by the government of Peron, commissioned work hydrography. But there is no evidence that Peron had gestures towards them. There is much frequented by the German colony. One of the few who were with him was Joseph Mengele, looking fat, short and thick dark hair, who called himself Dr. Gregor. Mengele fled to Paraguay and then Brazil. Eichmann was unable to avoid the painstaking pursuit of Simon Wiesenthal and ended his run in Israel. "He was also the only political prisoner executed in the State of Israel," he Abos. The contrasts and the journey of this man are the backbone of "Eichmann in Argentina," the biography of Nazi officer. After World War II Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann fled to Argentina in Austria where he lived under the name Ricardo Klement. The Eichmann trial aroused international interest, bringing the Nazi atrocities to the forefront of world news. The testimonies of Holocaust survivors, especially those combatants from the ghettos as Zivia Lubetkin, generated interest in the Jewish resistance. The Israeli attorney general, Gideon Hausner, signed an indictment against Eichmann by fifteen counts, including crimes against Jewish people and crimes against humanity. The charges against Eichmann were numerous. After the Wannsee Conference (January 1942), Eichmann coordinated the deportations of Jews from Germany and other parts of Western Europe, Southern and Northern, to the extermination camps (through their representatives Alois Brunner, Theodor Dannecker, Rolf Guenther, Dieter Wisliceny and others of the Gestapo). Eichmann planned deportation detail. Deportaciónde also coordinated the ten thousand gypsies (Roma / Sinti). Eichmann was also charged with membership in criminal organizations - Troops Assault (SA), Security Service (SD), and the Gestapo, which had already been declared criminal organizations in the Nuremberg trial in 1946. As head of the Gestapo section for Jewish affairs, Eichmann coordinated with the chief of the Gestapo, Heinrich Mueller, a plan to expel Jews from Germany to Poland, which set the pattern for future deportations. For those and other charges, Eichmann was found guilty and sentenced to death. On June 1, 1962, Eichmann was hanged. His body was cremated and the ashes were scattered at sea beyond the territorial waters of Israel. The execution of Adolf Eichmann was the only time Israel has declared a death sentence. After a long voyage, July 15th, 1950 landed Eichmann in Argentina as Ricardo Klement. When in 1960 a command from the Israeli secret service kidnapped him in Buenos Aires, the fact sparked a diplomatic incident between Argentina and Israel. Eichmann was sentenced to death and died on  May 31th, 1962 in a prison in Ramla, Israel.
