Jacques Deza a Spaniard despite his name, returns to England after his separation.

Sir Peter will introduce a peculiar person to him: Bertram Tupra, who was a disciple of Toby Rylands and today and today leads a branch of the British Intelligence Service that was born during World War II.

Maria's prose surrounds us in a more torrid hug than ever within its reiterations, lengths periods and hyperbatos looking like bullets trying to a that alert the sleepy linguistic conscience of the TVsheped reader of XXI century.
In my opinion, the main defect in this book is an identical voice that sublies under each character, all of them, if they not sharing the same point of view, suffering from identical prosody, verbal rate or overcharged thougts.
We find again the old Maria's speculation on the paradox of oue ancestors being younger than us because of death, a discovery one should not abuse more on than once or twice in a book, and not certainly several times in each one of them.
Finally, the style is rather clumsy when trying to slip in the narrator's quotations as he cannot avoid interrupting his interlocutors' monologues with a paragraph of Shakespeare, Cervantes or Churchill, which, he explains, he mentions to himself.
